The Grizzy Update Sept. 1 | Athletics, Parking & Drop Off, Forms

Hello Grizzly Families,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! We are so happy to see all of our new and returning students and hear how their summer break was. This short week was a great opportunity for students to get to know their new teachers, and connect with their classmates.

Below we have included a few updates/reminders and noted some upcoming important dates. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Athletics

A messenger was sent out yesterday that included important information regarding our upcoming athletics, for any questions or concerns regarding the information please reach out to Bonnie Thiele blthiele@cbe.ab.ca. Please see below for information regarding dates and times of tryouts and practices.

Cross Country

Practices: Tuesday at 8:00 am and Thursday at lunch. First Practice is Thursday, September 7 at lunch.

Boys Soccer

Basketball

Practices: Students will be informed of the practice and tryout schedule in class.

Parking and Drop Off

We ask parents/guardians dropping their children off or picking up their children up from school to park in legal spots on the street around the school and use caution when driving in the area. Please note that the staff parking lot and the bus drop-off zone are not suitable for drop-off, and parents/guardians parking in these areas may receive a ticket from Calgary Parking Authority.

Forms

  • This week, students in Grade 1 through 9 received an Admirable Use Policy form for their homeroom teachers. This form ensures all students are using digital information and technology resources in a responsible way. Please sign and return the form as soon as possible so your child is able to use school technology immediately.
  • All students in Grade 6 though 9 will have received an annual authorization form for athletics. This form details which sports or athletics your child is allowed to try out for. The form must be completed and returned to Bonnie Thiele before a student is allowed to participate in any extra-curricular athletics.
