We hope everyone has had a great long weekend with your families! Below we have included a few updates/reminders and noted some upcoming important dates. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. 

School Conferences

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our school conferences this past week. It was so great to see everyone in-person on Thursday and virtually on Friday! If you were not able to meet with your children’s teachers last week, please feel free to reach out directly to the teacher to arrange another time to connect so you can discuss your child’s current learning and progress.

School Council 

Thank you to everyone who has been able to participate and engage in our School Council meetings this year so far, we wanted to invite everyone to our next council meeting on November 29 at 6:30 pm. School Council Meeting - November 29 

Used Uniform Sale

• The Used Uniform Sale is coming up on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 4:00 - 5:45 p.m. in the hallway by the school gym.
• The sale is take what you need, pay what you can, allowing access for all. Please note that it is cash only. All proceeds go to school council and fund important educational activities for students throughout the year.
• In order to ensure everyone can participate in the sale, we may limit the number of items each individual can purchase. 
  Please be respectful and patient.
• YOU CAN DONATE USED UNIFORMS!
  • If you have uniforms that you are no longer using and wish to donate to the sale they can be dropped off at Glamorgan school between the hours of  8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday -Thursday and 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Fridays prior to the sale. Please ensure that the uniforms are in good condition and clean. Thank you! We appreciate your donations. 

Purdy’s Fundraiser

From now until November 28, 2023, you can order Purdys treats from our fundraiser by joining our campaign and browsing the tastiest selection of Christmas chocolates online. Shop gifts for school staff, colleagues, family, friends, neighbours AND yourself in one convenient place. After all orders are submitted, we’ll sort,  and distribute by December 15, 2023 to your student to take home.

Science Fair

We are very excited to announce that our Glamorgan School Science Fair club will be starting this week. Please see the attached letter under Resources for more information. We would love to see as many students involved as possible! 

Child & Youth Well-Being | Family & Caregiver Series 2023-24

The Calgary Board of Education is inviting all families and caregivers to join in an online series focusing on child and youth well-being. These sessions are hosted in partnership with Alberta Health Services and will explore topics such as vaping, brain development, mental health, and sexual health.

These sessions are offered free of charge and provide information, resources, helplines, and services to support healthy child and youth development. Please see the attached document for more information on these upcoming sessions.
