Hello Grizzly Families,

We hope everyone has had a great weekend and that you were able to enjoy some of this beautiful November weather.

Below we have included a few updates/reminders and noted some upcoming important dates. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. 

School Conferences

• We are excited to host the November Student Learning Conference (SLC) on Thursday November 23 (In-person at the school) and Friday November 24 (Online only via Teams). All conferences will begin at the school on Thursday from 4:30 pm – 8:30 pm and online on Friday from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm.
• Kindergarten to Grade 2 Families will have the opportunity to book a ten-minute SLC with their Homeroom, Physical Education, Music and French as Second Language teachers. 
• Grade 3 to Grade 6 families will have the opportunity to book a ten-minute SLC with their Humanities & Math/Science (combined), Physical Education, Music and French as Second Language teachers.
• Grade 7-9 families will have the opportunity to book a ten-minute SLC with their Humanities, Math & Science, Physical Education, Band and French as Second Language teachers. 
• As a reminder, conferences bookings opened to all families on Wednesday, November 8 at 5:00 pm and close on Thursday, November 23 at 12:00 pm.

Scholastic Book Fair

• The Learning Commons will be hosting the Scholastic book fair November 21 through 23.  Parents are invited to come on Thursday November 23 from 4:30-8 during Parent Teacher conferences. Flyers will be sent home after the fall break. We would love to see you at the fair.

School Council 

• Thank you to everyone who has been able to participate and engage in our School Council meetings this year so far, we wanted to invite everyone to our next council meeting on November 29 at 6:30 pm. School Council Meeting - November 29

Used Uniform Sale

• The Used Uniform Sale is coming up on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 4:00 - 5:45 p.m. in the hallway by the school gym.
• The sale is take what you need, pay what you can, allowing access for all. Please note that it is cash only. All proceeds go to school council and fund important educational activities for students throughout the year.
• In order to ensure everyone can participate in the sale, we may limit the number of items each individual can purchase. 
  Please be respectful and patient.
• YOU CAN DONATE USED UNIFORMS!
  • If you have uniforms that you are no longer using and wish to donate to the sale they can be dropped off at Glamorgan school between the hours of  8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday -Thursday and 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Fridays prior to the sale. Please ensure that the uniforms are in good condition and clean. Thank you! We appreciate your donations. 

Child & Youth Well-Being | Family & Caregiver Series 2023-24

• The Calgary Board of Education is inviting all families and caregivers to join in an online series focusing on child and youth well-being. These sessions are hosted in partnership with Alberta Health Services and will explore topics such as vaping, brain development, mental health, and sexual health.
• These sessions are offered free of charge and provide information, resources, helplines, and services to support healthy child and youth development. Please see the attached document for more information on these upcoming sessions.
