Hello Grizzly Families,

We hope everyone has been enjoying the wonderful weather with their families!

Below we have included a few updates/reminders and noted some upcoming important dates. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

School Council Update

Thank you so much to everyone who has been involved in our School council this year, your hard work and support has made such a difference at Glamorgan School. We certainly hope that many parents/guardians can attend our final meeting of the year, the AGM, that will now take place on May 22 at 6:30 pm instead of May 29.

Clubs

We have been very lucky to have a number of clubs our students have been able to participate in throughout the past year. Clubs like the Swiftie Club, Lego Club, and Art Club have had excellent attendance and have had very positive experiences. Here are the clubs that are currently being offered:

Chess Club

The club provides a welcoming environment for players of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced competitors, encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship, and a passion for the game. The club is aimed at fostering strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and camaraderie among students in grades 7 to 9.

Kindness Club

A small group of grade 3 students have created the newest club at Glamorgan to spread gratitude and kindness around the school!

Spelling Bee is Back!

Glamorgan’s biggest fundraiser of the year is back! The Glamorgan Spelling Bee will run from May 13 until May 24 and all students will be bringing home information tomorrow! Thank you for everyone who has already worked hard for this bee, we are so excited to see what we can raise this year!

Used Uniform Sale

The Glamorgan Used Uniform Sale will take place June 20 from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. If you have any used informs you would like to donate to our upcoming sale please drop them off at the office!

Popcorn Recess

Popcorn Recess is coming up on Thursday, May 30, 2024. The deadline to order is Thursday, May 16, 2024. To order for your child, please complete the online order form on the Healthy Hunger website: https://healthyhunger.ca/

The school cannot accept any orders or payments at the school. All orders must be done through the Healthy Hunger website, https://healthyhunger.ca/. Late orders will not be accepted.

Child & Youth Well-Being | Family & Caregiver Series 2023-24

The Calgary Board of Education is inviting all families and caregivers to join in an online series focusing on child and youth well-being. These sessions are hosted in partnership with Alberta Health Services and will explore topics such as vaping, brain development, mental health, and sexual health.

These sessions are offered free of charge and provide information, resources, helplines, and services to support healthy child and youth development. Please see the link for more information on these upcoming sessions.
