Happy Sunday, Grizzly Families!
This week has been an exciting one at our school, highlighted by the Science Fair, which featured an incredible 48 different projects! It was inspiring to see the creativity and dedication of our students as they showcased their hard work and curiosity.
A big thank you to all the students for their effort, the judges for their time and commitment in making this event happen, and the parents for coming out to support the students. Your involvement truly enhances our school community!

Celebrating Our Diverse School Community
We are thrilled to share that, through a recent demographic survey, we discovered that students within our school community speak 36 different primary languages at home! In our continued efforts to foster a greater sense of belonging and highlight the diversity within our student body, we want to make these languages more visible throughout our school.
A big thank you to the families who have already submitted the languages spoken at home. So far, we’ve received contributions in Urdu, Arabic, Hindi, Marathi, Turkish, and Farsi, and we’re excited to continue expanding this list. We still have many more languages to go, and we’d love to hear from you if your family speaks a language other than English at home.
To help us celebrate our diversity, we are asking families to share the language they speak at home, along with the correct way to say “Welcome” or “Hello” in that language. This will allow us to ensure we are using the correct words to greet and honor all members of our school community.
If your family speaks a language other than English at home, please email us at tbnixon@cbe.ab.ca with the following information:
- The language you speak at home
The correct pronunciation and spelling of “Welcome” or “Hello” in that language
We appreciate your support in helping us create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all our students!
