Hello Grizzly Families,
We hope everyone was able to stay warm and safe this past weekend following the snow we received! Below we have included a few updates/reminders and noted some upcoming important dates. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Leadership Activities
Our Leadership classes have worked hard to organize a number of great activities for our students to take part in over the next two weeks, please see the details below for each activity.
Homeroom Holiday Food Drive
- Leadership students will be delivering a large cardboard box to each homeroom teachers on December 11.
- Students can fill the box with canned goods and other non-perishable food items until December 19.
- Leadership students will collect the filled cardboard boxes on December 20 for the Calgary Food Bank.
Cardboard Food Box Decorating Contest
- Homerooms are invited to decorate their Holiday Food Drive Cardboard Box in full holiday theme.
- Decorating criteria will be sent out to each class ahead of time.
- Each winning class (Div 1, Div 2 & Div 3) will be awarded with a January dress-down day!
Dress up in your Winter Spirit Best!
- Mon, Dec 18: Favorite Flannel (wear your favorite plaid/flannel shirt)
- Tues, Dec 19: Holiday accessories (elf hat, reindeer antlers, Santa hat, etc.)
- Wed, Dec 20: Candy Cane Day (dress in Red & White)
- Thurs, Dec 21: Ugly sweater/sweater day
- Fri, Dec. 22: A long winter’s nap - PJ Day
Candy Canes for a Cause
- Candy canes will be sold each day during the lunch hour outside of the main office.
- Limit of 4 candy canes per student/day.
- Proceeds from the sales will go towards the grade 9 year-end activities!
Child & Youth Well-Being | Family & Caregiver Series 2023-24
- The Calgary Board of Education is inviting all families and caregivers to join in an online series focusing on child and youth well-being. These sessions are hosted in partnership with Alberta Health Services and will explore topics such as vaping, brain development, mental health, and sexual health.
- These sessions are offered free of charge and provide information, resources, helplines, and services to support healthy child and youth development. Please see the attached document for more information on these upcoming sessions.
