Next Year Planning
You should have received an “Intent to Return to Glamorgan 24-25” email recently from the office. Please let the office staff know as soon as possible so we are able to plan for next year. Please email glamorgan@cbe.ab.ca with any updates to your child’s enrolment.
Attendance
We have seen an increase in the number of late students particularly in the morning recently. This is just a friendly reminder to all families that the Calgary Board of Education recognizes the strong positive correlation between attendance and a student’s success in school and this includes arriving to school on-time. Students who arrive late miss important instructional time which can have a negative impact on a student’s learning. Please help your child to arrive on time, and ready to learn each day.
Grade 6 PAT Update
Alberta Education announced recently that the Grade 6 English language arts and literature (ELAL) and mathematics provincial achievement tests will not be administered in the 2023/2024 school year. Alberta Education will instead offer field testing between April and June 2024. Families with children in Grade 6 should have received communication from School Improvement with more information. All other PAT exams will be moving forward as planned.
Child & Youth Well-Being | Family & Caregiver Series 2023-24
The Calgary Board of Education is inviting all families and caregivers to join in an online series focusing on child and youth well-being. These sessions are hosted in partnership with Alberta Health Services and will explore topics such as vaping, brain development, mental health, and sexual health.
