Happy Friday, Grizzly Families!
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! We are thrilled to welcome back so many familiar faces and extend a warm greeting to all of our new students and families who have joined our community.
This first week back has been excellent, filled with energy, reconnections, and new friendships. Students had the chance to get to know their teachers, settle into routines, and build connections with their classmates.
We are so excited for all that this new school year will bring and look forward to the learning, growth, and memories ahead.
Please see below for some important updates, upcoming dates, and dates of significance.

Terry Fox Run
Next Friday, September 19, our students will be participating in the annual Terry Fox Run at Glamorgan School. We encourage families to support cancer research by bringing a Toonie for Terry or by making a donation online through our school’s fundraising page: https://schools.terryfox.ca/96522
Last year, Glamorgan raised an incredible $1,125 for cancer research. This year, we are aiming even higher, and with your support, we know we can reach our goal!

Along with welcoming many new students and families to our community this year, we are also fortunate to have several new staff members joining our team. Each brings unique expertise, energy, and passion to support our students.

New! Alien In-line Skating for Kindergarten to Gr 4!
We are so excited to offer Indoor In-Line Skating for our younger grades this year! Students in Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3 and 4 will have 3 - one hour lessons by taught by instructors from Alien In-Line Skating. All equipment (in-line skates, helmets, knee pads, wrist guards, and elbow pads) will be provided. The cost for this program is $18.00. This can be paid in your child's student fees online.
The lessons will be taking place between September 22nd and October 9th. Individual class schedules will be posted in your child's google classroom next week. There will also be an online sign up for parent volunteers who are able to come to assist students with equipment and offering some support for students as needed. Parents are not required to skate with the students. Current volunteer clearances are required. The time blocks for volunteering will be 9:00 am – 11:00 am, 11:00 am- 12:30 pm and 1:15 pm- 3:35 pm.
Locks and Lockers
Students in Grades 7–9 have been assigned a locker for storing their school materials. This week, each student received a school-issued lock for both their homeroom locker and their PE locker.
We kindly ask families to remind students of the following expectations:
Confidentiality: Locker combinations must be kept private, and lockers should always be securely locked. Please remind your children to double check they’ve locked their locker before leaving.
Care and Respect: Lockers are to be maintained in a clean condition and kept free of markings or inappropriate materials.
Replacement Fee: Lost locks will require an $11.00 replacement fee.
Thank you for supporting students in taking personal responsibility for their lockers and belongings throughout the school year.
Grizzly Spirit Wear and Gym T-shirt's will soon be available to order!
Students at Glamorgan can celebrate their Grizzly Pride on Fridays by wearing their Grizzly spirit wear (Grizzly sweatshirt, t-shirt, or track pants). More information will be coming soon!
Class Change Requests
We have received a few requests this week regarding class changes. Please know that our class lists were created with great thought, care, and attention, with the foremost priority being the academic success and well-being of all students.
We have carefully reviewed all requests for changes over the course of this past week and will notify families of any necessary adjustments by Monday.
We appreciate your understanding and support as we work to ensure the best possible learning environment for all students.
