Happy Tuesday, Grizzly Families!
Last week we had another action-packed week here at Glamorgan! With so many exciting off-campus opportunities, our halls were a little quieter than usual, but for good reason. Our Junior and Senior Badminton teams proudly competed in their divisional championships, capping off a short but excellent season. Meanwhile, our Senior Concert Band travelled to Red Deer to represent Glamorgan at the ABA competition, showcasing their incredible talent and dedication to music.
The learning continued beyond the classroom as well, with our Grade 3 students enjoying an adventurous day exploring Granary Road, and one of our Grade 4 classes heading out to the OH Ranch for an unforgettable hands-on learning experience. Closer to home, our amazing Kindergarten team welcomed future Glamorgan families at our Kindergarten Orientation, with an informative and warm introduction to our school community.
Please see below for some important updates, upcoming dates, and dates of significance.
Staffing Update
As we approach the end of the school year, it's that time when we begin to hear about changes to our Glamorgan staff. These announcements always come with mixed emotions. While it’s never easy to say goodbye, whether someone has been with us for a short while or many years, we are incredibly proud to see our Glamorgan Grizzlies move on to new opportunities and adventures.
Today, we share our first staffing update from one of our longest-serving team members. Please see below for a message from Mr. Rip.
Dear Glamorgan Families,
It is with mixed emotions that I share that I will be leaving Glamorgan School at the end of this school year. I have accepted the position of Assistant Principal at Christine Meikle School. After 15 incredible years at Glamorgan, it is difficult to say goodbye to such a supportive and caring community.
It has been an honour to welcome so many of your children into their school journey as their Kindergarten teacher. In my time as a resource teacher, I have had the privilege of supporting students and working alongside families to help each child succeed. As the Science Fair coordinator, I was fortunate to witness curiosity and creativity come to life through the amazing projects our students shared.
I will continue to support students and families throughout the remainder of the school year. If you have questions about your child’s Individual Program Plan or transition for next year, please feel free to reach out to me at jmrip@cbe.ab.ca.
I am deeply grateful for the relationships, memories, and experiences that have shaped my time at Glamorgan. While I look forward to the opportunities ahead, I will truly miss being part of the Glamorgan family.
Mr. Rip
