Happy Monday, Grizzly Families!
Last week, we had a fantastic week at Glamorgan, highlighted by a special opportunity to welcome a film crew to spotlight our incredible school community! It was an exciting and unique experience, and we were so proud to showcase the talent, spirit, and energy that make our school such a wonderful place.
Our Grade 7 students had an amazing experience at band camp at MRU, refining their musical skills and collaborating with peers in a dynamic and inspiring setting. A big thank you goes out to the families who attended the Grade 6-8 Next Year Band Information Night—your support is instrumental in helping us continue to provide a rich and vibrant music program for our students.
Please see below for some important updates, upcoming dates, and dates of significance.

Access will be limited to the gymnasium; no access will be permitted to other parts of the school.

Found Hockey Helmet
There was a hockey helmet left during our Skating Week that has not be claimed yet. Please contact the office if your child is missing their hockey helmet.
Science Fair Update and Request
This year we have more than 50 amazing Science Fair projects! Therefore, we are still looking for as many volunteers as possible to come and judge. Judges should feel comfortable interacting with Grade 5 to 9 students by listening to their projects, asking questions, and providing constructive verbal and written feedback. No background in science or engineering is required and no previous Science Fair experience is required. We will be providing training and standard setting.
The commitment will involve being at the school on Thursday, March 13, from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm, although we may be done sooner. Coffee and snacks will be provided through the generosity of our Glamorgan School Parent Council. If you are interested or know someone who is, please send an email to Jason Rip (jmrip@cbe.ab.ca) with your contact details. Thank you so much for donating your time to support our amazing Science Fair students.
Celebrating Our Diverse School Community
We are excited to share that, through a recent demographic survey, we learned that students within our school community have identified that they speak 36 different primary languages at home. In our continued efforts to foster a greater sense of belonging and highlight the diversity within our student body, we want to make these languages more visible throughout our school.
To help us celebrate our diversity, we are asking families to share the language they speak at home, along with the correct way to say “Welcome” or “Hello” in that language. This will allow us to ensure that we’re using the correct words to greet and honor all members of our school community.
If your family speaks a language other than English at home, please email us at tbnixon@cbe.ab.ca with the following information:
- The language you speak at home
- The correct pronunciation and spelling of “Welcome” or “Hello” in that language
We appreciate your support in helping us create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all our students.
