Happy Sunday, Grizzly Families!
It’s was another great week at Glamorgan School! Despite several days of indoor recess, our students remained positive and engaged, showing great flexibility and enthusiasm. A highlight of the week was our Grade 6 students attending the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, where they had the chance to experience the magic of live music. As we into next week, we look forward to more learning, growth, and exciting opportunities ahead.

Teacher’s Convention & CBE Staff Association Convention
Teachers’ convention is a mandatory two-day professional development event held annually for all certificated teachers. This year, the Calgary City Teachers’ Convention is scheduled for February 13-14. Staff Association members, including educational assistants, behaviour support workers, and secretaries, are expected to attend the CBE Staff Association Convention, which also takes place on February 13-14. There will be no school for students on these days. Classes will resume on Tuesday, February 18, following the Family Day holiday. Thank you for your support!
Pink Shirt Day – February 26, 2025
Pink Shirt Day is observed annually in Canada on the last Wednesday of February to raise awareness about bullying prevention. The initiative began in Nova Scotia in 2007 when students David Shepherd and Travis Price witnessed a classmate being bullied for wearing a pink shirt. In response, they purchased 50 pink shirts and encouraged their peers to wear them in solidarity, sparking a nationwide movement.
Recognized across Canada and in other countries, Pink Shirt Day promotes kindness and inclusion, particularly in schools and youth settings. Students at Glamorgan School are invited to wear pink shirts on this day to show their support for the anti-bullying cause!
