Happy Monday, Grizzly Families!

Although it was a short week, it was a truly memorable one at Glamorgan School. We were thrilled to host our very first Diversity Conference for students in Grades 5–9. Centered around the theme "We Rise By Lifting Others," the day began with an inspiring keynote, followed by two engaging sessions selected by each student from a lineup of 11 incredible speakers. The day wrapped up with a meaningful homeroom activity during Grizzly Time, bringing everyone together to reflect and connect!

Please see below for some important updates, upcoming dates, and dates of significance.

Spelling Bee!

It’s an exciting week at Glamorgan as our annual Spelling Bee officially kicked off on April 28!

All students should have brought home their Spelling Bee Package, and families should have received a School Messenger with important details about the event today. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out — we’re happy to help!

We’re counting down to the big day on May 9, and the excitement is building!

A couple of friendly reminders:

  • Casual Day is coming up on Thursday, May 1
  • Toonie Tuesday will be held on May 6

Thanks for your continued support - we’re buzzing with excitement!

Track and Field

We are thrilled to announce our first-ever Track and Field Day happening on Friday, May 2 for all Grade 5 to 9 students! This will be a fun-filled day of activity, school spirit, and friendly competition. For students in Grades 6 to 9, the day will also serve as a try-out for our school’s Track and Field Team.

Students have already selected a minimum of three events to participate in. With warm weather in the forecast, we ask that students come prepared with activewear, proper running shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and a water bottle to stay cool and hydrated throughout the day.

We are looking forward to an exciting and memorable day together as we kick off this new tradition!

You're Invited to Our Annual Volunteer Tea!

We’re thrilled to invite you to Glamorgan School’s Annual Volunteer Tea, taking place on Thursday, June 5! This special event is our way of expressing heartfelt thanks for the time, care, and support you've generously shared with our school community throughout the year.

Please note: The previous Grizzly Update included an incorrect date — please mark your calendars for June 5.

Last year, we were disappointed to have unintentionally missed inviting some of our amazing volunteers. To help us avoid that this year, we kindly ask that anyone who has volunteered at Glamorgan School, whether for home reading, the Grandparents Program, Spelling Bee, classroom support, field trips, skating, or any other event or activity, please fill out the following form to register for the tea: https://forms.office.com/r/qTZBsvip7W

Our volunteers make an incredible impact at Glamorgan, and we want to make sure every single one of you is recognized and celebrated for the difference you make!
