Ice Skating in PE
Skating will take place from Monday, Jan. 20 to Jan. 23 for all grade 3 to 9 students with Glamorgan’s Winter Sports Day TBD for all Glamorgan students. To ensure that we are able to run a successful skating program we do require many parent volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up for volunteering here - https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0B4CA5AF2CA3FFCF8-47119625-skating#/
All volunteers will need to have a current volunteer clearance.
Specific Volunteers will be required for the following positions:
- Skate Shack: finding appropriately sized skates for students
- Helmet Selection and return at the Glam Shack
- Skate tying and removal at the Glam Shack
- Supervision of the students on the ice at the rink. If assisting on ice, volunteers will require skates and an approved hockey or ski helmet
The skating sessions that your child will be participating are part of our Physical Education curriculum. If your child has a medical reason they cannot participate, they will be provided with an alternate assignment and will still accompany their class over to the Glamorgan Community Association Shack and rink.
Forms
A number of students have not returned their off-site activity form yet to participate in skating this week. Please have your child return their form tomorrow morning if they have not done so already!
Uniforms
This week, students are permitted to wear their informal uniforms throughout the week. Please note that this is not a casual dress week, and all students are required to wear their uniforms, whether they are skating or not. Students are welcome to bring snow pants to wear over their uniforms, and Grade 7-9 students have the option to change into track pants to wear under their snow pants before heading outside.
Immunization Consent Forms
This is a friendly reminder to please return your completed immunization consent forms to the school as soon as possible. These forms are essential to ensure your child’s participation in the upcoming immunization program.
If you have any questions or need a new form, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office.
Kindergarten Registration and TLC Open House
Thank you so much for everyone who attended our Kindergarten and TLC Open House this past Wednesday, we had an incredible turn out and are excited to add to our Grizzly Family for the upcoming school year. Special shout out to our amazing Grade 1, Grade 6, and Grade 9 students who each delivered a wonderful speech about what it meant to be a part of Glamorgan School!
As a reminder to all families, Kindergarten registration opened this past Monday.
This is also the time to apply for the TLC program for any additional siblings who attend another CBE school. If you wish to apply for Grades 1 to 9 TLC, please complete an online Expression of Interest form.
