The Grizzly Update: September 21 - 25, 2026
Hopefully everyone is enjoying a wonderful weekend and taking some time to relax and recharge as we look ahead to another exciting week!
Athletics are officially up and running, and it has been great to see our students getting involved, showing school spirit, and representing our community with enthusiasm. We are looking forward to a busy and exciting week ahead!
Respecting Our Community And Traffic Safety
We are seeing U-turns in our school/playground zone, parking and dropping off in our bus zones, and many more traffic violations that put all the students in danger. Please abide by all traffic laws. Please do not block residents' driveways or the back-alley access.
At no time is the staff parking lot is to be used. Staff only. Thank you to everyone for keeping all our students safe.

Orange Shirt Day and Truth and Reconciliation
Dear Families,
As part of our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation, Glamorgan School will commemorate Orange Shirt Day on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
Orange Shirt Day is a time to honor the resilience, culture, and experiences of Indigenous children, families, and residential school survivors, and to remember the children who did not return home. The orange shirt serves as a powerful symbol of the truth that Every Child Matters.
- What to wear: We encourage all students and staff to wear an orange shirt (or any orange clothing/item) on Tuesday, September 29. If students choose not to wear an orange shirt, them your child would need to come in their regular uniform shirt- This is not a casual clothing day
- No School – Wednesday, Sept. 30: Please note that schools are closed on Wednesday, September 30, for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a non-operational day across the Calgary Board of Education.
Thank you for your continued support in helping our students build a caring, respectful, and inclusive community.
Attendance
We appreciate you notifying your child’s teacher when your child is absent from school. However, please be sure to notify the school office as well at glamorgan@cbe.ab.ca.
Please note that teachers only check their email periodically throughout the school day, as they are busy teaching and supervising students. As a result, they are unable to monitor their emails consistently during school hours.
To ensure your child’s absence is recorded promptly, please notify the school office directly whenever your child will be absent.
